Rules and Regulations for Kayaking Race
1. Registration of players
a. Each racer is allowed to represent only one team during this event.
b. Each team will be comprised of one male and one female kayaker (Mixed Double).
2. Race Format
a. The race will be approximately 4 kilometres in distance. Racers will have to do the 2 kilometres route twice to accomplish the race distance. See attached route.
- The start point will also be the end point.
- The race will be divided into two waves. Each wave will have 25 to 30 double kayaks. At the end of the first wave 30 minutes will be allocated for the change over of racers.
- All kayaks and paddles supplied are generic and will not be guaranteed to any particular racing team.
- The top three winning timings of the each wave will be used to decide the final three positions.
3. Reporting Time
a. All racers must report at 7 am on the race date at the holding area.
b. The First wave of race will commence at 0800 hrs and the second wave will start at 0850 hrs.
c. Prize presentation will be at 1030 hrs.
d. The venue of the Sports by the Riverside is by the Riviera LRT station. The kayaking event is right by the river side. Directional signs will be prepared to give your students directions to the holding area.
Directions:
1. By Public transport: Travel to Punggol MRT Station, transfer to the LRT and alight at the Riviera station. Walk toward the Dining and Recreational facilities.
2. By Private transport: Locate the Riviera LRT station along Punggol East Road. Turn left into the Chinese temple (Tebing Lane) and left again into the dining and recreational facilities by the Punggol Promenade.
4. Equipment
a. All kayaks, paddles and PFDs will be supplied by PA WaterVenture.
5. Attire
a. T-shirts or singlets, shorts and covered shoes
6. Notes
a. The event Main-Committee holds the right to decided on any issues raised.
b. All decisions made by event Main Committee are final.
To all participants, please print and fill up the indemnity form and pass it to me on Wednesday, 20th April during training.
